no. at least, not yet.

like you said, there hasn't been any build up, as far as we know, and I don't like the idea of Doom being an alternate universe variant of Tony Stark.

maybe they'll make it work, so I'll try to keep an open mind.

Does this thing involve Galactus? Because that is the only way you can be more interesting than Thanos if you are trying to just go to the next strongest thing, at least among the threats that a minor casual fan like me is aware of (i.e. I know Thanos with fancy gem glove and Galactus are basically the top two powerful beings who are well known, and don't include the literal universe being a character, or Squirrel Girl's true official stats).

Doom is the big bad and since it's leading up to Secret Wars, it'll probably be God Emperor Doom. For context, God Emperor Doom oneshot Thanos.

No. Though I don't think it would've mattered much since Doom was omnipotent at the time.

Well... mostly omnipotent. Only thing he couldn't do was fix his face.

Edit. Should mention he had Galactus slaving for Franklin during this time too.

Super excited. There are some rumors that they're announcing it's going to be a two-parter as well. Looking forward to seeing if that's true or if Secret Wars is the part two confirmed.

The gauntlet can literally erase planets if you wanted to use it for that.

Was the time he got beaten by squirrel girl before or after or during the time he had the gauntlet? Cause Doom got beaten by Squirrel Girl even worse. Or better, depending on your view. Didn't even get to use a doom bot as a decoy for that one.

That reminds me. The new Stellaris update/DLC can let you play as a living planet.

The Fantastic 4 casting is pretty bad and they will probably be involved a lot considering it is Doom.

I want to at least see how well the Fantastic 4 movie goes first. If Fantastic 4 isn't good, then Doomsday likely isn't either.

Like Pascal but aint no way he is a Reed. That dude they got to play Johnny just looks weird.

The live stream showing off chairs with names on them got hundreds of millions of views in less than a day. For chairs.

So yes there are people excited.

I don't think Thanos had the gauntlet for that fight but Doom also didn't have the power of a Beyonder then either.

Dr Doom beat celestials, eternals, made his own universe, etc. There is enough ridiculous material for the guy to make him absolutely dwarf Thanos. That said, I really don't like the RDJ pick. At all.

I'm a 6 out of 10, though a good 6. This post-EG is sliding away from MCU magic into Sony/Fox whatever pre-MCU vibes.
