Is this based off of the Stephen King novel? Looks like it. That's really cool, I had no idea this was a thing and it's one of my favorite stories of his. Assuming it's a full blown theatrical release, I might actually go see it.

yea, I remember buying this collection called The Bachman Books, and it had The Long Walk as one of the stories.

great book.

it also had Rage, which I think was banned after school shootings ended up happening more regularly.

I believe it was King himself who pulled Rage after several different school shooters were claimed to be big fans of it.

Looks pretty good, but I'm still unsure how it'll work as a movie.

I'm curious, what do you find unbelievable about it?

The story was mentioned in 1408. Looks pretty solid.

In the book, they do. They are chosen by lottery, but are allowed to drop out beforehand, but then they have no chance at the prize, (whatever the winner wants for the rest of their life).

Dystopian, (although nowadays, that's not incredibly far off from the real world).

From what I remember, the backstory is that in ww2, the nazis managed to invade the American east coast, and in order to fight them off, America handed over all power to the military. And the military never let go

But the story takes place in "modern day". I think the 80s (I think that's when it was written)
