I've never needed one because our house is too small, but my parents have a big house and have a curved TV and they were asking about new ones. They seem super rare now. It is actually awesome in their house because you can see it well from multiple angles. Was it a fad that phased out?

They still exist as ultra wide monitors but yeah any tv worth a shit ditched that. It was a temporary fad.

Still a thing for monitors. Haven't seen TVs in a while. Didn't realize it until this topic.

It shouldnt have been a fad. Getting a curved monitor was one of the best decisions I ever made.

There is a big difference in using something designed for one person sitting in the sweet spot at a close distance that helps eliminate edge distortion and fills your field of vision.

Compared to tvs that came in much bigger sizes, made manufacturing difficult, and because people sit back at more of a distance and caused off angle viewing issues and no real benefit to the claimed immersion factor and drove up price.

Ultimately they can work very well as a monitor. Different scenario when used as a tv, especially in a family setting with multiple viewing positions.

No need for curved TVs imo. Get a large OLED. Softer on the eyes and they have good viewing angles. Ie, you can be sitting at a 70 degree angle from the TV and still see it well
