I can't watch the video right now, but I agree with the topic title.

I went from being hyped as HELL for switch 2 to being actually angry about the entire situation. Still no date on pre orders for America / Canada ? They're flopping so hard and killing the momentum.

Nintendo is launching a new console with better hardware, new (and faster-read) games, and more functionality compared to their last console that's 7 years old, for the same price that physical PS5 and XBox Series X launched at several years ago prior to inflation - as a bundle with a high quality launch title.

They haven't announced one yet. I imagine the tariffs being paused for 90 days instead of being canceled is making it extremely difficult for them to figure out what to do given that if they release it at MSRP and then suddenly they're paying 50% on top of that they would either have to do a massive price hike that would be immediately uncomfortable or just start losing money on every sale.

How dude ? You're defending like the absolute worst business practices I've seen. They can't even offer the port of BOTW with the DLC for crying out loud. Typically when a game is re-released on a new console it has EVERYTHING. Yeah, maybe it's included if you already have save data but what about potential new players ? They just get screwed ? Get real.

The prices are bullshit and the majority of people feel they're smelling themselves and getting greedy and not being fair.

Yea I agree in principle on the $80 game price. I would have preferred that Nintendo and no one else had pushed that yet, but ok.

Console price? I mean Nintendo never sells their consoles at a loss, this is an upgraded version of their previous system, with many significant features. Do I think they should have made a few other decisions? Yes. Hall effect and OLED in particular. I believe on their scale they could have made that financially workable and felt like they were delivering on two legit upgrades that had to be made.

So even with those quibbles, I'm not upset at any of their decisions. They can't control Donald Dumbass and his ridiculous moves so I am not surprised it's both expensive, and that pre orders have been paused. Not Nintendo's fault for that, IMHO.

Ultimately, I simply have no desire to purchase the console at launch. I'm fine waiting 6 months to a year to pick it up, as the "system seller" of Mario Kart has never been of interest to me.

I dont find people pathetic for not having money. I find them pathetic for thinking that theyre somehow owed a console and games within their price range.

By all means be disappointed about the announcements. If you want something and cant afford it, I get that. But anger? Its ridiculous. Nintendo owes you nothing. Theyre a business. They offer products and set their own prices, and if youre not happy with the offer, you dont have to take them up on it.

If you hate $80 games, I'm totally with you. Hell, I'm still not fully onboard with $70 games; waited until I found it on sale, to get TotK. The console price though? Sony, Microsoft, & Steam have had their respective systems at a comparative price for years now, before general inflation or Trump BS was in play. The root problem there is that people have settled into the mindset that Nintendo has to be the "budget" system, & Nintendo's PR allowing that "the system will be affordable" definitely didn't help, when setting expectations.

No one is really complaining about the Switch 2 console price.

They are complaining about seemingly flex pricing on their games based on how much they think people are still going to pay. We could see the new Zelda at 100 dollars easily and that is before the price of DLC. They are complaining about insanely high prices on accessories that look like they are out of the early 2010's. They are complaining about Nintendo nickle and diming for every single thing. They are complaining about Nintendo game prices never dropping over time. They are complaining about not having a lesser model of the system so you can still play new Nintendo games even if you do not have much money.
