There are quite a few pretty bad fights in the series. It's frankly pretty hard to be more boring and barely an actual hunt than, say, Lao-Shan Lung or Jhen Mohran. One is literally a monster slowly walking forward that you whale on for a very long time til he dies. The other is barely fought by you but by a warship

Zoh Shia has the semblance of an actual fight, but in reality, this is mini-game boss turbo that confuses people into thinking it's actual difficulty. In reality, he's the type of boss that spams attacks forever and doesn't let up unless you realize the fight's actual gimmick and win-con: shooting the fucking crystals for 10 minutes. The crystals do like 400 dmg if you hit it right, and leaving them open gives the boss several ticks more on every attack and also empowers all of his many many projectiles. The crystals break the body parts so easily and flinches the monster that you can just get in a couple of hits. Meaning the crystals are a gateway to thousands of damage for free.

Also some of the attacks are literally programmed incorrectly? In every other MH, you have to face the source of the attack, not the monster, to properly guard it. For some reason, your back can be faced bh the Teostra looking fire field attack, and it'll... guard... I don't understand. The World devs were always kinda bad at designing properly difficult fight, but this ain't it. It's just a wrong hitbox programming

Yeah before you say anything, I solo'd the fight with no cart. It was easy. It's not a difficult fight, it's just a terrible one.

Also the boss just has a shitload of hp for like no reason? I think some weapons will probably have a much easier time hunting the guy. Any weapon with mobility makes him whiff half the time. Well too bad most weapons aren't that mobile. Slamdown and the wyvern jiz blast are 2 tick attacks, which makes immobile counters pretty bad against him.

I get it, most MH final boss type fights have those mini-game aspect to them. They're generally some of the worst fight of every game. However, I don't know a fight (except Jhen Mohran ahem) where the entire fight is a mini-game. Ok, fine, the more I think about it, Jhen Mohran is worse, cuz very slightly technically this fight is doable without shooting the crystals and it's literally impossible to beat Jhen Mohran without playing the ship mini-game, it's just... crystal-less solo Zoh Shia HR is grueling for most immobile weapons. I can do it with DB and it's pretty easy, but he will randomly clip me with the billion projectiles

Yeah I dunno this fight has me livid. It's barely monster hunter. It sure looks like it though, but the actual fight isn't. The game and the World devs have a lot of defenders so I mean I might be speaking into the void

There's no way it can be that bad when shit like Lavasioth, Kirin, and World Kushala exist. I'm sure older games have even worse than those.

I just beat the low rank one last night and it was a pretty good fight. I can't see how it could get significantly worse.

spams attacks? he feels so sluggish compared to actual spammers like black diablos or yian kutku in this same game.

Idk just felt like a scripted fight to me. Go through the beats until you get to the end.

you mean that fight in MH World where you had to load cannonballs into a cannon and fire them? yeah, that shit was annoying as fuck.

im glad Wilds doesnt have those kind of annoying ass fights... lol

I havent played wilds yet but world has some truly abysmal and horribly designed fights after the main story. Arch tempered monsters were a nightmare and not recommended to fight against in randoms, and The ancient lechen, Bahamut, and lunastra can go fuck themselves.

Jhen hate is not to be tolerated.

AT Zorah was great.

Maybe it's just cuz I always liked shooting the wylk crystals and blowing them up, but I had fun with it. There were certainly fights in World that I liked much less.
