I spent hours grinding in the first dungeon in Metaphor and I'm trying to convince myself to just move on... but it's just so easy.

I don't necessarily think this is a bad thing... I kinda like mindlessly grinding.

If you are too high level monsters start giving less XP so you'll eventually be forced to move on

Yeah, I'm at 24 running in and out of a saferoom and taking out a couple bird dudes and teeth things and it's only taking like 10ish minutes to score another few of those 1000xp things. I'll probably stop at 25 though and just move on.

Oh, you're grinding Archetype points.

There are like...42-43 Archetypes?

In the first dungeon you have access to only a few.

Save your sanity and move on.

By the end of the game, I had 10 million reeve, 1 million MAG, and 100% of Will's archetypes mastered. You're right, and I enjoyed it. I even muted the sound and watched episodes of the Sopranos while sitting at the large crystals that sent endless waves.

Also, if you sit on Wizard while doing it, you can get back MP easier this way than trying to use magla potions.

I also did it on Merchant to get so many items and reeve lol...

One thing Ill say there is I regret grinding only insofar as theres an achievement for 100 sneak attacks, and when youre too high level you just kill everything so I havent gotten that yet since I can only sneak attack things of a similar level to me.

If not for that I think the game is brilliantly setup. I havent taken a single point of damage from a non-boss enemy since I started the game, as far as my save is concerned, and Im playing on Hard.

There's a stupid easy AP grind near the end of the game with a high level mimic. If you're grinding your AP at the beginning of the game you are just wasting massive amounts of time.

an even better one would be the gold and silver tooth humans on Tyrant's Star. I was able to get 31 hero leafs per battle until lvl 91.

Ah so it's like Persona.

I haven't grinded in rpgs in ages, new era games don't need that DQ-level shit. Simply exploring the world and dungeons as I like to do always makes me end up being at a good high level anyway
