Favorite look in metroid, but the worst as a metroid game. I vote indifferent

I really liked it. I think it's the only Metroid game I've actually finished. Which I do need to fix someday.

Yes, it was my first Metroid game. Great game, but Zero Mission is probably my favorite.

Yes, great game with the atmosphere. Handful of very fun bosses.

Yes, and it's my favorite of the Metroid games. Amazing atmosphere. I also like that it's more linear, which I know can be a problem for typical Metriod fans.

I think it being more linear and the narrative connections to Other M could be valid criticisms, but I love it. One of the games I would play on the walk home in middle school.

Out of every Metroid game I've played through to completion, it was my least favorite overall experience outside of Other M.

I don't hate it, I just... did not find it all that enjoyable.

Yes, it is good IMO.

Some people give it flak for being too linear/telling you where to go all the time. But I don't think it hurts the game in this instance.

I have never played a Metroid game. I doubt I ever will.

People hella hated this game when it first came out. Too much hand holding and too much dialogue is what they were saying all them years ago

It must be an interesting experience having Fusion as your true entry into the series, since so much of its key moments are built around deliberately subverting the tropes of the series up to that point.

Don't take that as me knocking it, either - I loved Spaceballs long before I ever loved Star Wars.

I actually started with Prime, then Fusion. So I'm kinda in the same boat, since Prime might as well be a spinoff.

As in, if nobody told you the Prime games come between 1 and 2, you'd never guess and probably never even wonder, lol.

I also had never seen the Alien movies, so while I could obviously tell there was some influence, some of the plot twists that were pretty much lifted straight from those totally blindsided me, lol.

Same, I started with Prime and had (and still have) never seen the Alien movies.

Similar to someone further up, when I played Super the first time, I didn't get it. Only after a re-try, did it click.

I played Prime some back in the day but never finished it. Got the remaster... I will get to it, someday....
