Republicans don't believe in anything, they would still support Trump if he took a diarrhea dump on their lawn

The law is only meant to hurt minorities. It's not meant to be used to constrain white people. So of course they approve of Trump defying court orders; they were never meant to apply to him in the first place.

Of course they support it. Republicans only care about their team "winning," and if they have to break the law to do it, that's fine -- even desirable, because it means they're more powerful than the law. Only the "losing" team has to follow the law.

Republicans get told in the news they watch and the social media they read that the judge doesn't have the authority to rule the way she did, and that impeachment is appropriate. Actually, the official word from the White House itself is that they didn't even disobey the judges' orders. If the "facts" you hear support what your gut is telling you (the people are being deported are dangerous, violent criminals and opposing that is wrong), why would you question it or think it unjust?

Campaigns of hatred are extremely effective, and choosing plane loads of supposedly violent gang members was a smart choice. People want to be safe and gangs are scary; many aren't inclined to believe the police and ICE could make mistakes (or "mistakes") because of the Just World Fallacy. It's all a very neat and tidy package.

Of course they do. Laws apply to only people with 'D' next to their names.

Trump bragged on camera that he could commit a sex crime and get away with it and the "law and order" Republicans still supported him so I'm not sure why anything is different.

If our journalists were worth a damn, they'd be hounding them on this nonstop.

At this point, most claimed values/political identities, whether it's "law & order Republican", "America loving patriot", or "God-fearing Christian", ultimately appear decorative. What really matters is that it's their team doing it, it's their victory, and that it's opposed by the others, and that's all it takes.

Law and order was always code for bringing back Jim Crow. That was the literal basis behind the southern strategy it originated from.

In other words, they dont care about their guys doing it.

This. They don't actually hold a single real value or ideal. It's all for show, and the second they see an opportunity to "trigger da libz!" they'll throw a lifelong belief right out the window.
