They do this to try to catch speeders.

I dunno if the radar doesn't work while they're in motion or if it's just a distraction, but they'll tailgate someone they suspect of speeding and read their own speedometer to figure out how fast they're going.

I always wonder why they even bother with this. I imagine this doesn't work on the overwhelming majority.

IF I was speeding and see a cop behind me, why on earth would I continue speeding. Especially as a black man....

Honestly, I even take it a step further and go 5 to 10 under the limit to make it a point you won't get me. At least not for speeding, I can't stop him if he decides to get me for some other bs.

Either the point is I'll drive under the limit, or turn into the nearest gas station/market place.

The thing that makes me want to road rage is assholes in the far left lane who pace traffic. If people are passing you on the right, move the fuck over.

The worst thing is a left lane hog who fluctuates up and down by 5-10MPH, refuses to move over, and then tries to turn it into a race when you get fed up and try to pass them on the right.

I'll never forget the fucker who passed me on a narrow county road, brake checked me to a complete stop, then laughed maniacally, clapped and flipped me off all in a little rear-view mirror display for me and my passenger before taking off at some speed in excess of 80 miles per hour. I know that because I chased him briefly before thinking better of it. Probably my biggest should-have-had-a-dashcam moment.

Cops are routinely the worst drivers on the road.

Turns out giving them carte blanche to ignore road rules at will be turning on the flashy woo-woos for five seconds (coupled with stapling a fucking laptop to the dash) makes them as wildly unpredictable behind the wheel as they are for whether or not they'll shoot anyone at any moment.
