Some of the scenes are still great, the train scene is still probably the best fight in super hero movie history, but I still think all 3 of the og spider man movies aged bad

What is no. 1? How did Raimi go so bad with 3? Iirc he does not like it. Same for like alien 3 with its well known director.

Its the all time greatest comic book movie of all time.

Better than The Dark Knight. Better than Infinity War. Better than Logan. And better than X2.

As a movie? It's great

As a Spider-Man movie? You can hardly tell. Toby is a bad Spider-Man, MJ sucks as...well MJ, and while we got a Doc Ock villain, he's nothing like his comic portrayal.

Honestly, it's a great movie, but you can easily say that it's nothing like the Spider-Man comics.

Nostalgia goggles. MJ makes those movies borderline unwatchable. The middle aged teenagers dont help.

Why is Toby bad? Imo better than Holland, yeah he is like always sad.....never read comics , like comic, dock ock, idk....not really important to me tbh

Tobey was an okay Peter, but he becomes a whole different person in the Spider-Man outfit. His whole persona is different. Doc Ock is...pathetic. He's completely egotistic and it wasn't his arms that took control over his mind, he was always like that. He was a complete dweeb too. He's basically Peter Parker if Peter was completely self-involved.

That's probably why we got the Superior Spider-Man comic(where Doc Ock tricks Peter into switching bodies with him and then Peter dying in Ock's body and Ock becoming Spider-Man)

For me I think Spider-Man 2 is the gold standard. The video game was solid to go with it as well.

He was pressured to tie in too many arcs into one movie, so it was a cobbled-together product. Believe it was Venom that wasn't in his original vision, and Sony wanted him to make it happen.

Eric Foreman didn't make it a particularly attractive character.
The symbiote effect had it's moments, but the closure and some moments were paced in a way that made it seem like a disposable element in the trilogy.

I don't think we'll ever get a real firsthand feel of the challenges in detail, but with some of the context revealed, in some ways it's impressive that the end product still got strung together with some cohesion.

I want to say 'yes' but damn not a fan of MJ in the original movies. Be it she's more 'girl next door' or me intentionally playing up her 'WHY DIDN'T YOU SEE MY PLAY!?!?!?' when she doesn't know Peter is Spider-Man and she knows there is a secret in his life he's hiding.

I like the MCU Spider-Man as well but damn is the first Spider-Verse movie really great.

Aged bad, visually?

No no no visually they aged amazing. But even the first and second movies have really corny and dumb writing and acting. THEN AGAIN this was the opinion I made when I last watched them which was when Blockbuster still existed.

Watch it again, then. Can't even remember when blockbuster went under , around time of trilogy?

No but I'll never dispute ppl who suggest it.

For me, it lacks a true villain - Doc Ock is so sympathetic, esp with re-watches.
I probably enjoy No Way Home the most, so what if it has 3 Parkers, it has the slew of baddies to go with it.

Great movie but rewatching now, Tobey Maguire is okay at best. Tom Holland is a much better Spider-Man.
