With Captain Falcon's popularity in Super Smash, even post nerf, I'm sure that a game like F-Zero Adventure would have been somewhat popular among fans and newcomers alike.

Still waiting on a bounty hunter spin off game starring the Captain since thats what Falcon does as a day job when the racing season is over for the year.

If they did it right that would actually be pretty neat.

I feel like a hybrid style would probably have suited F-Zero much more than Star Fox. Obviously, part of the jankiness to the Arwing segments in Adventures was it being a converted game, but you cant really justify switching between ground and space that often.

Some kind of bounty hunter ground gameplay in between races would definitely make more sense for F-Zero.

The entire F-Zero franchise has over the last 30 years sold about 6 million units. To put that into comparison, the RE4 remake from 2023 has sold close to 8 million units. The best selling games in 2024 nearly all sold more copies on launch weekend than all of F-Zero combined.

So I'm not really surprised it never got the Star Fox Adventure treatment. F-Zero is a very small, very loud corner of the Nintendo community that really deserves a sequel but there just isn't enough of them to generate the kind of numbers that would make Nintendo consider elevating Cap to the same level as their other mascots.

Miyamoto would probably just bin your letter since if the rumor mill about his working relationship with Argonaut Software has any truth to it, he hates being outshined by people outside of Nintendo.

no, i love the games but they don't sell well enough to justify it. GX was the chance to capitalize on it but it sold like 700k from what i see even though i see something about the producer saying it was 1.5 million.

this is why they haven't made a new game in over 2 decades besides f-zero 99 and no idea how many players that had compared to the others. star fox i'm sure sold way better without looking it up.

i accepted f-zero and punchout probably won't ever get another game made. i don't really know why f-zero didn't sell better. f-zero x i played so much growing up. gx i never owned since it's so expensive to buy but rented it a few times and loved it.

It's too bad F-Zero is such a niche franchise (due to Nintendo's neglect), despite it being popular.

yea that was japan only till the switch release a couple months ago. i'm curious what the sale splits are on the other games and if the USA carried the sales and if japan was always pretty low on them.
