My first moment of realizing that the game was harder than previous versions was getting into random encounters outside of Kaipo before entering the underwater passage (I did not have ~~Tellah~~ yet - I was trying to level ~~Rydia~~ a bit), and I actually died in a random encounter. Most games of that era are trash and junk due to poor emulation software. It's just I remember booting up a old save and I was all holy crap these enemies attack really fast.
