Season 9 of the Simpson's.
So people stop complaining about that one episode that wasn't even particularly bad.
Removing the last great season of the Simpsons will make the show worse.

The Principal and the Pauper was dumb, but it had some funny parts, and wasn't what killed the quality. It was a slow decline.

I would defend the writers perspective. The show had already self-destructed and had been a "writer's playground" since like season 4.

Down to earth Simpson's died before the 90's really even started. It's been wacky and "stupid" way before that episode was even an idea.

Historically, what were considered to be the best episodes were the more deconstructive ones, homer vs the monorail, homer's enemy, etc.

The problem with the show is that not allowed to be creative or take risks anymore, it became the exact kind of show it was a statement against. A milquetoast family sitcom.

The problem with Principal and the Pauper wasn't that it was a bad episode, in fact the point the writers tried to make was kind of interesting if not outright poetic.

The fucked up thing is the writers were right. You mess with people's comfort and it will PISS THEM OFF.

The Principal and the Pauper ruined the Simpson's because the Simpson's can no longer be creative and take risks because of the backlash it got online (the Simpson's was one of the earliest shows to take online feedback seriously).

It can't have character development anymore.

Lost would be a better show without the flash sideways bullshit in the last season. So half a season worth of air time.

It turns out Skinner was really Harmon Tamsarian (or whatever it was) when the real Skinner showed up.

Can we cut out the year with the Guest Host era from Raw? Bob Barker was good, but I'd sacrifice his show to get rid of the rest.

I will never watch a whole season of something I dont enjoy, Ill watch 6 episodes if I think it has promise and thats about it (for hour long shows) maybe that is why Ive always thought so many of these were crap, I should just try some episodes from middle seasons

This too. Season 7 SUCKS, and it has the worst villain out of any arc in the show.

I gotta disagree. 7 has probably the best episode outside of the original 5 seasons(Death's Door). It also has some of the best comedy episodes. I say get rid of season 8.
