Also if the packs are anything like what they were when I used to buy them as a teenager, the vast majority of what you're getting in that $26k is worthless cards.

Who knows the accuracy but I have heard rumours that the Switch 2 has been ready for quite a while now and Nintendo has enough stock that there should be no worry about scalping.

We obviously should know soon enough the accuracy of that rumour.

Packs of Pokemon cards lose all of their value pretty much immediately.

This guy is an idiot if true, but it got me thinking on how I don't understand Pokmon card pack values since I have never been big into collecting things.

I had one of those card pack opening content creators randomly pop up on my YouTube shorts recommendations. I watched it and the guy purchased a pack on the resale market for like $250. The rarest card from that series apparently only sales for like $130 or something. (I don't recall the exact number). It seems rather odd to me that a sealed copy of something sales for that much more than the most likely highest single priced content in it. (I don't know if the video was BSing how much an old pack of cards would cost.)

Depending on what cards you get too, you'll be lucky to hold onto a few gems. But the majority are useless paper.

But are pokemon cards that limited a commodity that invidivudals can affect the availability of them? They're just small card packs. I'd imagine it wouldn't be that difficult to produce enough supply for the demand.

Don't you need to sell Pokemon cards right away? People only care about the newest set.

Unless you get an ultra rare card.
