And they played the Lions and Rams back to back both times!

That Vikings win really saved LA's season. People were talking about them trading Kupp and maybe even Stafford if they lost that game.

A lot of people still don't realize that the Rams were only down because of the early injuries. The Vikings game was the first game they had everyone back and realized "Wait, we actually are a good team like we thought we were". Not counting the game where they played no one against Seattle and still almost won, they're 10-2 since getting their core players back. The interesting nugget is the one bad loss they took was to guess who... The Eagles.

This team is legitimately scary, but they could just flat out join the obvious pecking order and get beaten twice as well!

The Eagles and Lions never played in the regular season though.

Skill issue

Right now, it's a skill issue. It's been a coaching issue a lot in the last decade.

Which is why McCarthy is good but not good enough if you're Dallas. You need someone to raise the ceiling, not the floor.

They made a rule that you can't do this a few years ago. Someone lost a playoff game on one team, and was released right after. They immediately signed with a different playoff team to play in their next game. I think it was some sort of lineman.

The NFL realized how absurd that was and put a stop to it immediately.

And yeah, Diontae Johnson wants to be relevant, but his own actions have done him in.

If his history as Hornets owner says anything, you want to avoid this.

There's a lot of traction for Saleh getting the Jaguars job, and he's also interviewing with the Cowboys.

I guess the incredible incompetency of the Jets organization is giving him something of a pass, especially with how the defense fell into a crater without him.

If we hire Saleh, I'm done with the Jags. I'll find a new team. Especially if it's because he's the only one that will work with Trent Baalke.

I think Saleh is one of those guys who should be a coordinator because he's really good at that

I'm sure the Jets are to blame for some of that, but I'm not convinced it was all them

Yeah I think Saleh is going to be in that tier of "solid defensive coordinator, but not great as head coach".

Lifetime coordinators can last a long time on the NFL. Just look at Spags, that dude's had a better career than most head coaches.

Saleh as DC would be great for any team. But not as a head coach.

Would love Ben Johnson or Aaron Glenn. Joe Brady would be fine too. Or Liam Coen. Just not another re-tread.

And there's no shame in being a great coordinator who isn't head coaching material. They're different skill sets.

I don't think he's getting fired any time in the near future, but it's definitely not going to be after one year.

I really wish Greg Olsen stayed with KB. Tommy was... fine at first, but his biases showed more and more as the season went along, and he didn't really offer any meaningful commentary. He also just seemed... bored, and that made the games harder to watch. KB is still great, a huge improvement from Joe and Troy, but he was so much better with Greg.

Brady's timing is really bad. He just doesn't know when he's supposed to talk.

I don't have strong opinions on commentators, they're just kind of there. I don't remember ever thinking this one is great or this other one is bad, unless they have an irritating voice or something. It's kind of just background noise for the game and I don't really pay much attention to it

The only thing I ever really notice is when they make utter fools of themselves by getting obvious facts utterly wrong because it's their job to state things correctly.

Quarterback Carson Beck announced over the past week that he would be transferring from Georgia to Miami. Beck will receive massive NIL money at Miami and is projected to make more money next season than Denver Broncos quarterback Bo Nix on the second year of his rookie contract.

What's funny is the NFL did this to rookie contracts to make them more manageable for teams but now might be losing players because the deals just aren't good enough.

Well, I think the only ones who will make enough money to stay are QBs, and a lot of them could benefit from one more year of college.

But anyway, Ewers NFL ceiling is like.. "Perfectly average guy who is serviceable but you always know you can do better"

I mean you can have a worse ceiling that than.
