I think stuff like this shows the decline of the US even sharper than beforehand, because 15 years ago people would have lost their shit collectively of things like this were banned, and now we have random people celebrating it.

Tiktok comes across as a place where BRICS countries go through the "hey, I'm on the internet" that other places went through almost 30 years ago. Almost all of the content is condescending misinformation or movie summaries videos that swear they are using native English TTS. Videos that would only make sense in the creator's actual location. Same with Youtube shorts.

Likely so. Its a major media outlet the government cant fully control. Which of course is a problem for them and all their booklickers that believe and support them.

I've never been on it, but I know it has many liberals on it. But it also has IDF videos made by soldiers spreading propaganda to make kids around the world think Israel is cool. If Tik Tok had banned the IDF videos, I would have more sympathy for the platform

15 years social network sites were totally different and nothing like many modern ones. The current use of algorithms has had disastrous effects on the general population. Banning shit like modern Tiktok and Facebook would likely be a net benefit to society.

I don't use TikTok outside of what people send me, and I've never seen anything this stupid either. Misinformation is all over the place, so I'm confused on why people are saying it for this.
