Being able to say generate a new storyline based on the Orange Islands and not needing to wait a decade for a dedicated rom hack to be made would be amazing. People keep having meltdowns over AI because the training data is often made up of work taken from artists without their permission. But then I hear these same people supporting projects like these that blatantly use the work of other artists without their permission. Same area but expanded with same/different pokemon? New area but same pokemon? I'm playing Pokemon Unbound right now, I believe it was a romhack from Fire Red. It has most/all the QOL updates as the newer games, probably some rebalancing, but the story and town feel completely new to me.
