It's changed since then, but I got a job at the local McDonald's ages ago. My 1st I had coworkers attempting to spike my drink with drugs and i immediately got called in for an overnight shift I was told I wouldn't have to work.

Then I saw one of my high school teachers and they were like "It's always nice to know all the years teaching ended with you working at McDonald's rather than doing something with your life."

With all of that, and being extremely overwhelmed with anxiety, I didn't last. I quit almost immediately.

I have twice before over this kind of thing. It hasn't been nearly as bad since I came back this last time, but I called this happening weeks ago. Told my family, messaged Miquella that I thought this would happen.

I'm extremely frustrated, and if my other coworkers asks me to work for her tomorrow, or they ask me to cover Friday I think I might lose it.

All the money I earn here goes straight into keeping our business going. I haven't actually earned anything myself for a while.

I was really hoping it would be self sufficient enough that I could quit it start saving again. But it's not quite there.

No offense, but this is getting ridiculous. It's wrong on so many levels that you're being repeatedly knowingly taken advantage of and don't even keep any money for yourself.
It's kind of impressive that you've stuck around there for so long, but it doesn't sound like it's profitable or sustainable for you in any way.

Please do yourself a favor, and find another job. I know it may seem difficult jumping into an unknown, but based on what you've told us so far, all this really isn't worth it.

Kind of, yes. I had quite a bit of savings after a previous year or to of being overworked by them. During the period when I wasn't working at the hotel, me and Mom decided to start a business and try and build it up to replace my income. We actually got a really good deal on things to get set up. But with no other income it quickly started to drain my savings.

Then right about the time that it became concerning, my boss called and asked me to come back. Promised it'd just be for 2 nights a week. Which would then be able to cover almost all the money I was putting into the business. So I went back in order to help find the business and eventually be able to leave this job forever.

It's finally starting to become stable and is earning a bit of profit. But not enough for me to quit without risking it all again. It's just take a bad month or two with no other income.

Things will be improving for our business soon. So I've been trying to hold out till then. I just wanted to use my vacation time for some extra Christmas money and to get a bit further ahead.

Ugh.

There's another update, but I'll get to that later. Nothing bad for me yet, just a little shocking to learn. Won't affect me much.

Ok, I got some time now.

One person I haven't mentioned so far. Our GM. I very rarely see him, and we get along fine, and he really has nothing to do with any of this.

But I was told last week that he was having blood pressure problems and ended up in the hospital. I wasn't terribly concerned at that point, as it sounded like everything was under control.

But I learned that he just got released yesterday, which put him 5 days in the hospital, which raised my concern level a bit.

Turns out that he temporarily lost his vision, and whatever medication they gave him to lower his pressure made it bottom out. He said that they "managed to bring him back".

So, uh, sounds like he might have died for a moment. He's been in intensive care all week. He could barely walk.

It was just rather shocking to hear that he might have just been gone if things were a bit worse.

Okay, things are probably winding down with the extra shifts for a while.

I was pleasantly surprised to not have to work yesterday. I was unsurprisingly called in to work tonight for Strup Thorut's husband. But this time is reasonable. My other coworker, who tried had an allergic reaction earlier in the week was here for her shift, and ended up having a seizure. So my boss stayed to finish her shift if I could cover his tonight. She ended up having a second seizure at home after a hospital visit. As far as I'm aware she is home and doing ok now.

But, Strup Thorut is throwing a fit about it. She actually had to work her shift tonight, and has to cover a shift tomorrow for the one with seizures. She was here just a bit ago complaining that I have no idea how much it's stressing her out to have to work this weekend.

Oh, gee, yeah, I seriously have no idea lady. I only have the next 5 nights to go myself after being called in for like 7 other extra shifts throughout the week. But no, you have to work a weekend for once because someone is seriously ill, and it's too much.

She absolutely, 100% expected to cruise through 2 weeks before Christmas without working. She surprisingly is working on Christmas, but then wouldn't be back till the following weekend. So, if our coworker didn't have seizures this morning she would have finished off almost the entirety of December only working 3 days next. But it's not fair to her, and she was almost in tears about how unfair things have been this week for her.

Edit: To top it off, she says that I could've done more to make things easier on her.

This whole week has been a total and complete disaster. And yes, she was actually sick, but she got to stay home in bed for most of it.

I was going to make a similar post about why is it that people only call me when I'm off work? At work, no one calls, no one wants anything. I take a day off work, everyone is calling my cell? What the hell.

You should have just told them youre out of town.
