I did that years ago. Couldn't do it again. It's a grind.

it's true. there's countless things that can go wrong if don't do the right thing at certain points.
it messes up percentages.

Pretty much routinely talk to everyone on the planet, some multiple times per chapter
master minigames as they come (they are harder that FFX)
not allowed to skip dialog/cutscenes PERIOD

The game has a % tracker, but it doesn't show decimals, so you could move to the next chapter at say 18.1% when you need to be 18.6%, and you wouldnt know at all. You can speed up and skip dialog but if you advance certain dialog, you are locked out.

Just New Game Plus it and pick the other faction. New dialogue from making different choices still adds to your completion percentage even if you don't complete everything. And you can carry over some OP toys into your new playthrough to speed it along.

Theres 5 chapters. In chapter 1, it starts bad but still manageable, but chapter 3 kinda multiplies it, and chapter 4 and 5 multiply it even further.

It's one of those things you basically have to use a guide for. X-2's job system and battle system are absolutely perfect though so I wouldn't mind sucking it up and doing NG+ to finish.

I would've figured they got rid of this archaic system for the remastered versions but I guess not? I did it during my highschool days when this site was still alive (lol) but the payoff was worth it for the ending alone.

Seriously, I wouldn't blame you at all if you played as much as you wanted to do and then just Youtubed the ending. Even the book guides back then couldn't get it right on what you had to do lol.

This game is the exception to my rule of never Youtube-ing stuff before doing it myself.

This. 100% in two runs is easy, 100% in one run is insane.

I cant even get through the game one time w/o going for 100%. Ive tried twice now after a couple FFX runs.

Understandable. The story is very all over the place and WTF. Shame tho, it's got an amazing battle system (although Grandia did a similar style even better).

Yeah, its one of those things where if I had all the time in the world maybe I could push though it, but never completing it isnt going to make me lose sleep, there are plenty of way better games I have yet to finish.

Probably doesnt help that I always try to do it right after X so the quality in the story is just too jarring.

I recall you can only 100% on the first playthrough with one of the two factions, and that you need to do all the tedious stuff if you want to do it this way.

So yeah, you are probably meant to just do the New Game+ to hit 100% more easily.

Back when I was a young lad, I printed off a guide from this website to 100% the game. Was something stupid like 90 pages long and my parents were pissed at me wasting so much ink

By the time I finished playing it I must have missed something because I ended up on something like 98% completion. I was too young to be subjected to trauma like that

i was gonna go for it and was at 20% and checked a guide and missed 2% because i skipped a god damned cutscene

Still stuck on the Monster Arena. I started the game in 2020......yeah will never finish
