Brady guides went down hill quickly. And unless they put them online and update them when new patches come out, it's pointless. Internet will always reign supreme

Hell yeah books rule and only nerds like me use the internet. Bring on the great age of physical video game guides returning in huge numbers.

Seriously though that tales of vesperia physical guide was supremely shit and I still regret buying that one to this day.

I don't remember having a single missable using those old physical guides for FF7, super mario rpg, the final fantasy 5 and 6 anthology guide, the tales of symphonia, and the tales of the abyss guides. Imo they were pretty good for what they were. FF8's was guide enough to get you through the game and get the best equipment, but this game was packed with so much niche secrets people didn't find out about years later that you couldn't get every single thing.

I really liked those double jump guides I think they were called, the ones that made the rogue galaxy and the small disgaea psp guides.

I do remember the symphonia guide having a few errors, but they were never a huge enough deal that you would miss anything important. Now I do remember star ocean 4's physical guide having a romance ruining error (if you followed the guide then edge ain't getting no kiss from reimi later in the game. Poor edge).

Yeah, I was warned about that one by my one friend. It completely screws you out of a quest line.

As much nostalgia as I have for old physical print guides ... your phone has a search function.

Also, most people would opt for a wiki or YouTube these days.

Honestly it screws you out of vast majority of quest-lines, lmao. That guide did not have a single damn sidequest reminder in it.

It was so bad that I deleted my save file about 7 hours into the game and just opted to start over glancing at a gamefaqs guide.

So you're saying the FF9 guide was ahead of its time? A large portion of it has sidebars telling you to go to the playonline website for more details.

This. Just using the "find in Page" function on your phone would be far faster than pulling out a physical guide book
