Yeah, I'm trying to think how you would even play this on Switch. I guess using the touch screen?

Damn, I think I might have this on Steam but haven't played it because the controls were weird.

I'd welcome them also updating the Steam controls in line with this so I don't have to buy it again

It certainly isn't coded in x86 assembly since the Switch uses an ARM processor.

Wikipedia page seems to indicate they ported Rollercoaster Tycoon 2 to C and that's the base of this.

It can be fun if you like games that are basically a sandbox and you can do whatever you want.
you can close/open the park anytime, you can make paths that lead to nowhere, drown your guest, make suicide rollercoasters.

theres even a dlc that lets you make your own custom rollercoaster designs

how the controls will work on switch is kinda hard to say, I myself wasnt fond of the controls available on Rollercoaster Tycoon 3 for the switch, I think Atari will make the controls similar to that in RC Classic, maybe.
My biggest gripe with RC Classic is that it had one major change compared to the original RC, and that was that you couldnt build stuff while time was paused. In RC C, you can only build stuff either in normal time, 2x or 3x time progression which might not sound like a big deal at first but imo it can work against you since some scenarios take about like 2 years to accomplish and its pretty easy to go into debt really fast which slows down your ability to continuously build attractions

Thanks, @Homeless_Waifu. They do like creator mode on Minecraft and do like to just putter around in games. Sounds like a possibility. My son is hard to buy for but might enjoy this.
