Its perfectly on-brand for the GOP to get into things popularized by the left decades after the fact. My dad recently starting getting into recycling 30 years after it could've made a difference.

Their point is that raw milk from small, organic farms with healthy animals in clean living situations is generally safe. The gov says otherwise, but plenty of people do it without problems. It's tricky because allowing mass production of raw milk from factory farms will 100% result in fatalities and shouldn't be legal, but it's understandable why a farmer who can't give his willing friend fresh milk from his cow would be irate about being told that's against the law. I can go to a restaurant and eat raw sushi fish, raw beef (Ethiopian food), and even raw pufferfish at the single U.S. restaurant that has a license to serve that, so it seems there should be more room for certain exemptions so grown adults can make a choice to consume what they want.
