Seems to be a very disastrous situation and FEMA lagging hard while discouraging personal/private aid.

Not much news coverage.

Would like to here from anyone in or near the disastrous areas in particular.

yeah, kind of. My cousin lives in Asheville, NC and nobody had heard from him until this morning.
so, the past few days I was feeling in a fucked up mood but I'm super relieved he's safe.

idk much about the situation, other than hearing from my aunt that he's alive.

I have family in Western NC and Eastern Tennessee. Luckily none of them were hurt but they've been dealing with power and water outages.

People have lost electricity from it. So if they are one of those people they probably arent able to be on CE to vote on poll.

Spent the weekend draining my basement and calling my landlord to fix our roof.

Luckily everything in the basement was in big Tupperware containers. I wouldve lost photo albums and my Pokmon card collection.

Not directly, but we are experiencing shortages in central NC because of the combination of sending aid to the mountains and dumb people panic buying because of that port strike (mostly the latter).

We had a day of extremely heavy winds and rain but luckily my area was spared most of it.

Just that it's been raining almost every day lately. But that's it.

I live in east TN, and we just had some wind and rain.

I live in Greenville, SC. So yeah we're still recovering a bit. Lost power for 3 days and still without internet but I'm just thankful to be safe.

NE Florida. It was tropical storm winds just a little bit of rain. My old place my guess did not fare too well. Matthew threw out similar winds and lost 1 pecan tree and 2 others. I imagine with saturated ground previous weeks. Pretty sure some fell.

I live on the outskirts of Asheville, so yes. Our area didn't suffer major structural damage outside of fallen trees everywhere. It's still rough going without running water and electricity for a whole week though. I'm currently posting from a Weaverville grocery store that finally got it's power back.

Not directly, outside of severe storm. We did lose power for a few hours but that was in the middle of the night(I can't sleep without a fan going, and it turned off so I woke up till power was back).

Our creek flooded exceptionally high, but not quite to the point of worry. But another day of rain and our place probably would've been in danger of flooding. Thankfully it didn't quite get there.

Work has been affected greatly though. Due to the flooding, road damage, power outages, fallen trees and emergency relief services, every hotel has been completely sold out. I've been turning away groups of 40-50 workers looking to book till at least the 10th because we already have groups here. I've likely turned away close to 1,000 rooms just from workers needing places to stay, and from what I hear ours that way from here(VA) to Georgia. No one has any rooms. It makes my front desk job easy, since I have no one to check in, but it's annoying having to field calls and get yelled at about 50 times a day. Also, having literally every guest come down for breakfast at once. Especially annoying are the ones coming down down an hour early and fussing at me for not having food ready yet.

yeah the more im finding is that the really bad areas...the people who are still alive are not able to contact the rest of the world and according to some a full recovery in those areas may take up to 4 years just based off of what can be seen from above

I was in the projected path of the tropical storm but it didnt effect me or my family an hour away
i hope all those effected are able to rebuild and heal

It actually wasn't too bad, just some crazy wind.

Not to subtract from everyone who got hurt though.

Had crazy wind, a few fence panels toppled, lost electricity for several hours. Other than that, not much.
