Probably on multiple places - it's a collection of 50 games made by a fictional game developer from the 80s. Runs the gamut of genres - apparently including a couple of long RPGs in there and all sorts of random shit.

How unexpected. And how valuable. This is what 50 games will get you, then. The surprise of it: a premise that seems to be all scrolling and endless variation and swiping for something new, is actually about the pleasures of ignoring everything except for this one glittering thing that's in front of you right now. UFO 50's an improbably rangy confection that's secretly absolutely all about focus.

UFO 50 is a collection of 50 single and multiplayer games that span a variety of genres, from platformers and shoot 'em ups to puzzle games, roguelites, and RPGs. Our goal is to combine a familiar 8-bit aesthetic with new ideas and modern game design.

I mean, the developer of Spelunky - one of the best roguelites out there - is involved. It's kinda expected there's gonna be at least a few.

Yeah, when this was announced at Summer Games Fest, I was immediately hyped. It reminded me of Retro Game Challenge, but much bigger.

One of the coolest aspects of UFO 50 is how well fleshed out the alternate gaming dimension it creates is. The first few games you play only feature stationary backgrounds as the developers hadnt figured out scrolling yet, and the credits of the game feature names youll see rise up the ranks as the company grows. Each game features a small bit of trivia you can read that gives you insight on the games too, so you can learn that a hot shot programmer came up with an idea for a particular game when asleep on the office sofa.
