I'm at the end of Final Fantasy VI. Is Final Fantasy V on the GBA worth playing?

Best 2D FF IMO

It has a fun job system. Plot is kind of meh but I liked it well enough. I suggest playing it.

It's worth a play for sure. I don't remember a thing about the plot but the job system is a lot of fun lol

It's the middle child of the 16-bit era of Final Fantasy.

One of the three remaining FF games not an MMO that I need to play.

I bought the pixel remasters off the PS4 store so I'm getting ready for all of them.

Story is meh, but job system is great, and gave us one of the best reoccurring characters in the series.

It's my 3rd favorite of the pre-3d games.

If FFIV is a soap opera.
FFVI is a dramatic action adventure.
FFV is a light-hearted comedy with some serious somber moments.

I'm a big fan of FFV. It's got some great characters, memorable scenes, and generally feels like an upgrade to FFIV. The story isn't so serious, but it lets itself be whimsical. Butz could use a little more work, but the rest of the cast is all fantastic.

Moreso it didn't come over initially and thus doesn't get the enormous nostalgia boost the others have. Its popularity is because it's just that good.

People hate it but it was my favorite. It played out how I liked and wished other Final Fantasies did.

The job system is still fucking amazing and makes up for pretty much all the other problems. 3/6 will always be favorite though since it's the first FF I played.

Plot and characters are not nearly as good as FFVI. The job system is what makes it fun. Between all the different jobs and mixing and matching abilities between them you have a ton of options for building your team.

FFV's story is as weak as 1 or 3's while somehow feeling even more drawn out. The pacing of the game can really feel like a slog at times tbh.

But it does have some of the best gameplay in the series if you like Class systems. And the final third of the game is just so good it makes up for any faults preceding it.

Personally I'd try to go for the pixel remaster if I were you just so you can use boosts that mitigate the grinding. But it's a great game regardless

Seems like 5 and 8 are the most divisive entries. 5 always feels like a chore to me to finish. I get the appeal though.

Best game in the series

It's a solid adventure with some decent replayability. I think it's one of the best ones personally.
