Would be better than spending months of my life stuck in traffic without anything to do but move forward four feet every ten minutes.

Driving takes literally all of my focus. I don't know how people are even able to peek at their phones while doing it

People joke about everything. Post #2 making a joke about it does not mean in any way that they don't actually take their driving seriously, or that they use a phone while driving at all.

I see it all the time and Im stunned by it. Even if you arent moving I think its a bad distraction and Ill be at an intersection and look around and everyone is in their phone. But the ones going down the highway are the worst.

Ill admit to hating cell phones and the behavior everyone has with them in public from waiting rooms, to people blocking the aisles when Im grocery shopping to people at virtually any public setting but all of that is just a personal annoyance and not dangerous.

But driving? They need to start absolutely nailing these people with expensive tickets. Loss of license. Really hammer it home.

By the way was your time off approved?

I knew a coworker who I referred to as lap driver. I never once saw her driving while not looking down at her phone.

I like to keep my phone out in a cup holder or console so I can see who it is when I get a chance. If it's my Dad who's going through medical issues, I'll take the call.

jury is still out but i didnt work yesterday or today. i cooked for the first time in quite a while. cleaned and caught up on as much sleep as possible. hoping to get the basics down so i can get back to important things like exercising and job searching. plus idk if ill have the rug yanked out from under me so i dont wanna do anything that could be considered an undertaking yet

As a pedestrian, it's terrifying. The amount of drivers crossing intersections while on the phone... pathetic.

if we had self driving cars this wouldn't be a problem. take control away from dumbasses who don't want to drive responsibly. then, if your car is autonomous, you're not using it AND you're looking at your cell phone then a really expensive fine is coming your way. probably lose your license as well

Its pretty damn irritating. I get into nearly 3 collisions a week due to mostly that shitty behavior.

The states that have laws about this have to enforce that shit harder.

The number of times I've pulled put to overtake a vehicle that was driving erratically, only to see that the driver was on their fucking phone. Especially scary when it's a huge lorry.

If you don't have hands free, you should get your license suspended if you get caught on your phone. Don't care if you're sitting in traffic, put the fucker away.
