Compsognathus 07/10/24 1:06:44 PM #2:	I don't think he can afford to. Backing out would look like a forfeit and conceding that he is frail and lost. It would be little better than a bad performance. What he needs to do is go to the debate and kill it. If his team doesn't think he can do that then there are serious conversations that need to take place about the candidacy. Whether its past his bedtime or he flew two weeks ago or has a cold doesnt matter. He has to kill it. Skipping would be horrible now. So having Harris give a strong performance would provide some level of reassurance. Now obviously doing this relies on Trump picking a running mate and agreeing to the debate.
