Good ep! I'm always a fan of these morally ambiguous situations.

Also there's PLENTY that went on in those several minutes that Osha didn't see. I'm sure we'll get to see more of that.

I thought this was incredibly weak.

1/2 were ok but this isnt it

I knew all those claims of it pushing a "gay agenda" were bullshit. They were part of a coven of night sisters. Their "mothers" were literally their mothers but also leaders of their coven, like the night mothers. People don't want to wait til they see it on screen before jumping to conclusions. How did they learn the tricks of Darth Plagueis the wise?

Or Darth Plagueis learned from them.

Oh also I hope we learn *why* Osha and Mae were so important to the Nightsisters, apart from being the next generation.

Darth Plagueis would have to learn from them considering at this point in time he should be a teen at most unless Disney changes things. It should be his master or his master's master who is the active Sith lord when The Acolyte takes place.

Plus they don't seem to welcoming of men. I'd say Plagueis goes digging around in the ruins to steal their secrets.

If they were created and were fully able to use the Force, then the Nightsisters would be able to create as many witches as they could ever want.

^This. The ability to create life like that is a major boon. It would have let the coven grow exponentially.

Also I'm kinda wondering if the Sith were involved in the massacre? I imagine whichever Sith Lord is active during this time was poking around, especially considering the witches learning how to create life is eventually what Plageius uses to create Anakin.

Pretty decent episode, its obviously necessary for the story but not as good as the previous. Zero action scenes at all

A bunch of contrived bullshit tbh. Least favorite episode by a lot. Shame because I was looking forward to finding out their backstory and man it was disappointing af lol

Nightsisters predate TCW by more than a decade.

It was trash...just accept it.

I'm surprised how polarizing this episode was based on posts here and on Reddit. The Jedi aren't always good, and other Force users aren't always bad. I appreciated the shades of grey here. Some folks thought the ritual looked goofy, but I thought that made it feel authentic. Stuff cults do does look weird if you haven't been indoctrinated, and behind that awkwardness is danger: there is dark power, there was a deep looking hole behind the mother, and there was an as yet unstated reason for needing the girls.

It's looking like Plageius learns how to create life via stealing whatever ritual the witches used to create the twins. If Disney didn't mess with the timeline then Plageius around the time of this show would be a teenager/young adult.

Neither Palpatine nor plagues created anakin.

This has been confirmed by disney numerous times. Anakin was made directly by the force.

Plagueis was trying to create life using midichlroan manipulation but never actually succeeded

I think if the Jedi led it, the four there would have been attacked onsite. Could have been a rival coven maybe?

Witch fans be eating with these recent works. Always enjoy seeing these other force concepts.

Well, maybe Lucas should have thought of that when he stated that 9-year-old Anakin was too old to be a Jedi in TPM. Any group that swoops in and whisks away children for their parents to never see them again is gonna raise some well-earned eyebrows.

we have stuff like "this is jedi business" used as a catch all term for them doing wtv they want

we have quigon trying to use the force on watto to accept credits a form of currency he cant do anything with

the jedi are a secret police force that answer to no one

The first two episodes were really good, makes me wish the Obi-Wan tv show were more like this.

But this new episode was kinda bad, I have to be honest. It was pretty weak and and I found myself laughing several times at the ridiculous moments.

One thing they didnt explain is who massacred the coven. Its implied Mae did that when she set the fire but its also like heuheu, ackshually the twist is the Jedi killed them heuheuhah

The fire Mae started was dumb, like she broke a lamp and then the stone temple just ignited like it was made out of styrofoam. I guess she used her Harry Potter magic to make it worse?

Everything about the witches was just so contrived and ridiculous though. The characterization was terrible.

I get they needed to show some backstory but I was expecting more when the flashback episode came around. I also wanted to see more of Master Indara. What a waste of a great character and actress.

mae is confused about whats going on to so its clear mae did NOT start the fire

i suspect she to was locked a room by "osha" and saw "osha" start a fire

Most people in the galaxy never see a Jedi in their lives and only know them from stories.

They're a religious cult that are state-sponsored and rely on mythic storytelling to reinforce their place as galactic cops.

Everyone keeps saying Nightsisters but unless I was missing something, the show never said that. They could be a different force cult. I'd even wager it as they don't seem to have any of the Nightsisters trappings.

Anyone who thinks that what we saw in Episode 3 is 100% the truth of how everything went down needs to chill.

This was Osha's perspective. It's what she knows and what she saw about the incident.

The idea that the coven would just be collapsed and all dead in a clump like that so early into the fire seems laughable for a reason: it's not how everything went down. The Jedi are hiding information from us.

Yeah thanks for the reminder. Theyre witches as the show portrays them. I edited out that part and only said that because others said it too.

Yeah I think its clear Mae couldnt have done all that, also the Jedi saw the Witches as a threat and dont want other outside groups using the force who can challenge their power.

Also the coven said they would take Oshas wish into consideration when they made their decision; I think they tried to stop the Jedi from taking Osha and the Jedi killed them when they were attacked

I don't trust the green jedi chick from epi 1/2...

I'd rather Vernestra Rwoh not be "the problem", but I admit I'm biased knowing her at 16 years old when she's over 100 in Acolyte.

I enjoyed it.

Then again, I've outgrown the "nitpick everything I like to death until I hate it" phase of my life...

this we are just seeing what osha thinks happens but i guess we will see the reveal the jedi did have a hand in their death seeing how one of them was so wrecked with guilt he willing took the poison from mae to atone
i have another theory i think the sisters switched during all this and the one we think is osha is actually mae who got jedi mind wiped but seeing her reaction last episode i guess it's not but i will still hold on to it for a late twist which would be a fun one imo too see one who wanted to be a jedi saw them kill her family and it's now hunting them down for revenge

There was nothing offensive about the third episode unless you're one of those fanboys who are butthurt about the whole witch and twin reveal.

I know it doesn't matter but the fact the twins weren't identical as kids but are as adults kept bugging me.

It's less expensive than having to digitally stitch a bunch of scenes together with the same actress.

Also harder for a child actor to play a scene with a phantom scene partner

Adult Osha/Mae haven't been seen onscreen together much (if at all) so far

Yeah it was a little irksome but at the same time I understand why they didn't CGI the other twin and just used a different child actress instead.

I think the twist here is fairly obvious. The jedi weren't there because they knew children were being trained. They were there because they knew a dark force user was on that planet and they feel guilty for not telling the coven. Either the coven was being taken advantage of from the shadows or one of them was the hooded figure in the first ep.

I think it would have been more interesting if the Jedi's goals were more insidious. Just going planet to planet kidnapping children from different groups. But I don't think they have the balls to make the Jedi bad.

I know identical twins that you can still tell apart if you know them well, their facial features are very close but not exactly the same
