AKA a picky/choosy eater who is unwilling to try new foods?

I wouldnt, Id try to encourage them to try a wider range of food but I wouldnt shame them for it.

Don't kink shame.

But seriously, no. I've recently had to seek new types of food to eat, while abandoning stuff I loved. If they don't want to branch out by their own choice or other reasons, I'm not gonna dig at them outside of maybe asking why not.

No. Not only do I not have enough information to know if they're just picky Vs. having some sort of medical condition that warrants a restricted diet, but it's also just plain none of my business regardless.

I agree a little with ya TC that I would probably try to encourage them to try something, but I won't push it any further beyond a simple yes/no.

Only if I'm paying for their food and they're letting most of it go to waste. I'm going to at least address it.

Otherwise, it's not my business.

No as I am one. I think it comes from a sensitive pallete. Like you put one damn piece or minced onion in my food and I will taste it.

I don't mind trying new stuff just not in public or someone else home cause my gag reflex has made me puke before

Depends. Most people I wouldn't care. But if their "limited diet" were just onion rings and French fries, I might say something to them in concern for their health.

My five year old is a picky eater. It's kinda annoying sometimes but for the most part it hardly matters. He likes fruit and broccoli, so he gets his vitamins and etc. it's more like, we can't go out for Thai or whatever.

Or burgers. Remember seeing a pic of Mexican places menu and the burger was called the El gringo.

Honestly I've only had one non fast food places burger that was worth a shit and that was a bar. Called the hangover burger. Cheese fried egg and hash browns on it

I know a girl well now woman who would only eat chicken nuggets. Like literally it's all she would eat.

I know a grown ass man who will not eat vegetables unless it's in deer stew. Only way he will eat them

Depends on why and how they communicate it.

If they refuse to drink even highly clean water because "it doesn't taste good" and they only drink soda I will call them out on being a child shaving their lifespan and teeth away.

If they go out to eat with extremely specific needs(especially ones that are unhealthy or purely a choice with little need or objective benefits) and get all pissy to the staff for not having many if any ways to accomodate them...yeah they are getting chewed out.

Someone with reflux being careful, a vegetarian, or someone following advice of legitimate medical professionals doing their jobs? I have no reason to take issue and will take reasonable steps to accomodate if given sufficient notice and information to do so.

A lot more people than you'd think end up this way. Probably largely because of freezing and canning. I grew up on frozen and canned vegetables and lemme tell you, that shit is vile.

I always thought I just learned to deal with it as an adult but then I ended up with frozen broccoli again and nope, I would honestly not eat that garbage if I had any alternative.

I'm a picky eater if where you take me doesn't have anything I want I'll just get a drink. But most places have at least one item I'll eat. I hate Asian food but I'll eat teriyaki chicken. Don't care for it but I can deal with it. Went to a Mongolian place and they had bacon wrapped shrimp on skewers that was pretty good.

And water I've never really cared for outside two exceptions that I don't have access to. A very particular water fountain at a school I went to (Idk its like the temp was just perfect) and a waterfall I visited in the blue ridge mountains.

It depends. Ordinarily, no. But if they were fussy little assholes at restaurants not getting their specialized order exactly right, or if they were adamant about only being willing to eat at a very small number of places, I'd tell 'em to fuck off.

People really want to change almost every ingredient on their sandwich, and have them arranged in a specific order on a freshly cleaned grill during the lunch rush.

They can go to hell.

I just want stuff removed. I only want meat cheese ketchup and mayo. Sadly i can tell of pickles had been on it and just taken off.

I'm not fussy about it though. I go and correct them politely if my order is fucked up

Accidently got a quadruple whopper that way. They just took the top patty off my triple whopper and trashed it then put two patties on.

I'm a simple man the less the better when it comes to a lot of food items. Like I can eat almost any pizza but plain cheese is my go to.

If you don't like mayo, your options at a sandwich shop are generally special order or nothing.

No.

But as with anything in life, don't be annoying about it, and I won't have a problem with it.

For example. If I'm out with a dozen people and we all decide to get Sushi, and you're the ONE person that doesn't eat sushi, don't huff throughout the entire meal and say things like "I can't believe you're eating THAT" becasue there's nothing there you're willing to eat.

Don't think I saw that. I just know I don't like lettuce onion (I can tolerate minced) tomatoes or pickles. Oddly pickles I can deal with but I'd rather not and as mentioned if simply removed off a sandwich that had them you can still taste it.

I think in that case I'd probably excuse myself entirely before even heading to the restaurant.

The last thing I want is eleven other people each in turn noticing that I didn't order anything, interrogating me about it and trying to shove food down my throat.

Which would be the admirable thing to do.

I used it as an example becasue there's a guy I works with who is like that.

I work in an office of 12 people, and every Friday my boss buys us lunch. We rotate who choses who we order from, and any time it isn't "his" Friday (where, without fail, we order from the deli becasue the ONLY thing he's willing to eat is a turkey sandwich with American cheese), he will critique what we order.

"All the Italian food has too much sauce on it"
"I don't know how you guys can stomach sushi"
"Didn't we order from the Greek place last week?"
"Mexican? I guess all the bathrooms will be occupied this afternoon"

Meanwhile, the dude has the palette of a 4 year old.

I think it depends on the reason why. I can sympathize for someone who chooses to be picky because of relative diet necessitates for it. Picky eaters who are picky because they refuse to try anything new or different are a different story though.

In my case, I love all types of food. I must choose to be picky about what I eat because I do not want to balloon up to where I was several years ago. I was 120 lbs heavier in 2021 than I am today. I never again want to experience the health related issues I had. Today, I am a fit 175 and don't plan for that to change.

My situation is vastly different from someone who, say, decides they are only going to eat garbage food/snack food/fast food every meal or eat the same 3 things over and over and over. Intolerance to experience new things, especially things that may be beneficial to your health, are an annoyance I have. I often have to make 2 different dinners because of it.
