I may upgrade my RG-300 to one of the 35XX Plus's (I saw the SP, first wanted that but Plus seems better and I just like the form of regular vertical, tho nostalgia for SP is tugging too lol)

But anyways, these are still around $50 give or take once they get to 3rd partys on aliexpress.

Meanwhile I have a Raspberry Pi 3b+ I got years ago and those are at least double what they cost back then!

Raspberry Pi's can be used in shitloads of different ways and can function as entire computers while these handhelds are used exclusively to play old video games.

I've been thinking of trying a handheld out as my CFW Switch's battery barely lasts and contrary to what everyone says, PS Vita's suck for emulation.

Retro handhelds were an immature market before COVID, it's natural for prices to come down / products to improve due to competition.

Nobody can keep the Raspberry Pi in stock, so prices have risen.
