I can get the knot right, but I have a lot of trouble shaping the knot nicely. I have a lot of trouble getting that nice tight diamond shape when tightening the tie.

I use a full Windsor knot. With practice it has become automatic.

The Pratt is definitely one of the easiest, cleanest looking knots. Full/double Windsor may take a little practice with the shape and length(ideally the tip should be center of the belt buckle) but it's really not difficult The Merovingian will take practice, and is only for when you have a vest/sweater due to the short final length --- Cookin like a chef, I'm a 5 Star Michelin ...
