this seems like a pretty cool thing they did, but...MoP was probably my least favorite expansion. I hated almost all the new enemy types, especially the hozen.

plus with it being limited time I doubt I'd even do the raids anyway.

MoP was peak wow after vanilla. in some ways it was peak wow regardless.

I've been playing it. It's pretty interesting. MoP with Dragonflight talents, but kind of like Season of Discovery where there are a bunch of customizable affixes and stat boosts.

Yea, I've been fighting the urge to reup just for this. Figure I could do everything in a month, get it out of my system then not worry about the game for a while.

I'm really tempted myself.

I might play it just to level a class I don't have at the cap yet. I stopped playing dragonflight a month after it came out, so that's all of them except for DH

I wonder how mods work. are they all just retail?

It's all the same system, no reason mods wouldn't work.

So having coke into wow at legion, Im enjoying it a lot. Though wish I didnt pick hunter as Im not really a ranger player, but figure try something new

yeah talent trees went downhill from there

they sort of made them better since then, but it's all still just cookie cutter builds.

and the people playing now take things too seriously for me. it killed all the fun of regular classic after I hit 60

I think I might just play cata classic instead, since I only ever did those raids solo much later on

actually fuck cata classic, because I wouldn't join a guild to do raids anyway >_>

I'll play the MoP remix for a month or two so I can get some fancy pets and mounts for my retail account

People talk up the old talent trees too much, most of them were completely no-brainer choices that you were just actively sabotaging yourself by not picking.

yeah but there is much more illusion of choice now with the huge trees.

plus vanilla was casual enough that people with weird builds could still do well if they tried hard enough. my guild used a feral druid to off tank in Naxx and a couple AQ40 bosses. the guy spent the whole game healing while really wanting to play feral.

anyway, I resubbed and made a nightborne warlock in Remix.

it lets you do heroic dungeons at level 11, so that should be interesting.

I'm playing it now, they added a bunch of interesting things to the game. The general quests haven't changed, but every time you get a treasure chest or kill a mob you have a chance to get a scroll which permanently increases one of your stats on your cloak. I'm sitting at about 10% extra experience on my Demon Hunter at 28, and 8% extra experience on my level 10 mage just by running a couple dungeons/scenarios. Eventually you will get so strong that you can solo Pandaria raids. You only have access to Pandaria content though. There is no Stormwind/Orgrimmar/Rest of the game.

I agree. Outside Burning Crusade and Wrath, MoP was very memorable. MSV, ToT, Siege of Org were all great raids. The music was top notch too.

Out of all the time i played wow I personally think WoTLK is the peak of wow, but i admit that is probably mostly rooted in a lot of personal bias and Nostalgia, BC i only started playing near the end and never quite understood the hype around it, Cata... Had issues, Mists was fun though a but not perfect, though its also when i started playing ff14.. Screw WoD, First point i actually stopped playing completely and returned for legion but quit near the end of that and seeing How BFA and Shadowlands turned out, i think that was the right choice

BC was good because it had good level flow and zone to zone flow. It wasn't until you got to Terrokar and Bladespire that it kinda started to fall apart. But going from Hellfire to Zanga then to Nagrand was a nice even flow. Netherlands was a nice and well flowing zone too.

I honestly judge Xpacs by how the leveling flows, because it's annoying as shit to play and either not know where to go, or constantly get sent on quests that are tiered elevation. It's also why I think that DF had some of the best zones in any WoW xpac, because being able to fly immediately really allowed the game to not feel bogged down by time wasting fetch quests where you're riding on a land mount longer than you're actually fighting enemies or looting corpses. I feel that always artificially padded the gameplay time.

I absolutely hated Dragonblight, half the zone was on this giant ass mountain edge, then the other was down on the bottom so you spent a majority of your time riding up and down switch backs to get to the top, it was fucking annoying. I will say that Fjord and Borean were really well made though. They were really nice starting zones that started and stopped you where you needed to, some of the quests were kinda annoying, but overall it wasn't too bad. Grizzly Hills was okay too while Zuldrak sucked, Storm Peaks kinda sucked at times due to the elevation shit, but by that time, you're actually flying so that's nice. Icecrown kinda sucked too since a huge bulk was just daily shit, though the tournament over there was amusing and fun. Then Crystalsong sucked since there was literally nothing to do there, not sure if they just abandoned it, or it was intentional. And finally Basin was okay but also had a few annoying ass quests.

Fjord was easily my fav zone for that xpac, but Tundra was solid too, and Grizz Hills as well. Blight can fuck off to hell forever tbqh. Just a trash zone that caused me to quit WoW for like 8 years.

The Argent Tournament was going to be there (makes a lot more sense than being on Arthas' front lawn). The issue was Dalaran. Anything in the zone would be slowed to a crawl thanks to the capital city being there.

That actually makes a lot of sense. It is weird to have 4 raids in such a small space though.

Wintergrasp, ICC, Argent tournament, then ulduar. Could fly by all 4 in like 2 to 3 minutes.

Na, just all really close, when normally raids are somewhat far apart. I guess the fact that wrath had a bunch of raids also helps too, I mean northrend has what, like 8 or 9 raids, then Onyxia remake. That's a shit load. Even weirder is none are on the east side of the map, they're all mostly in the middle or west except naxx.

Utgarde Pinnacle was originally going to be a raid too. And I think there was going to be a nerubian raid (along with an entire zone I know was cut). That's why Anub'arak was done so dirty.

And eh, three of WotLK's raids were one boss raids. Two of them were remakes. One of them, Onxyia, was a remake and a one boss raid. The only proper raids we got there were Ulduar, Argent Tournament, and Icecrown. And AT was a pretty big miss.

Played for a couple hours and it was fun. I got a meteor storm gem thats kinda cool.

They upped the drop rate of the world bosses and you can do them daily if you don't have the mounts.

If you level a Timerunner and collect enough bronze, you can just buy pretty much any mount or item set from the MoP expansion. It's relatively painless.

In MoP, the best way to farm one of the currencies was by killing Gulp Frogs.

In MoP remix, the best way to farm Bronze is by killing Gulp Frogs.

I think blizzard tricked me, I can't see myself playing more than a month of this. people still take even this mode way too seriously

I've not tried it yet, but r/wow is pretty pissed off. Apparently the bronze grind is ridiculous and they nerfed the frogs which was the only way of getting it in a timely manner without buffing the rest of the stuff to compensate. So now the people who grinded the frogs are way ahead of anyone who didn't.

Most are hoping Blizzard buffs the drop rate or lowers prices. Apparently they did something similar for Plunderstorm.

Its not even just that. I just hit 70 this morning, and the grind from 60-70 is way too difficult. The scaling is fine until 60, but once you hit 60, your stats take a sharp downward turn. I went from killing 5-6 mobs comfortably on my overpowered fire mage, to killing 2 with a LOT of kiting and dying.

Reinstalled the game but kinda trying not to reup my sub. I've still got some blizz cash so it won't cost me anything but actual time. I know if I do ill be even less productive than I already am, even if only for a month or two.
