Seriously, how hard is this to fix? Literally just copy-paste whatever code you're using for Twitter links. Twitter now redirects to X even on desktop, so it's a massive pain if you want to post a tweet here.

It works for most as long as it says twitter instead of X.

Everytime I copy from there, it automatically has it as twitter.

Yes, but that now requires you to manually alter the URL instead of a simple copy/paste.

You...literally just post the link. It embeds on its own as long as the domain is Twitter instead of X.

Sure they do. How else do you think they jam the most obnoxious ads imaginable into every corner of their sites?

IIRC, there was a decision made to not make the x domain embed... can't remember why, but I'm pretty sure I saw some mod or admin say that a while back.

I just copied this directly from the app, and didn't have to change it from saying X or anything:

Well it's nice that the app still works, but that doesn't change the fact that it's a problem on desktop.

Speaking of, is the site not working for everyone else or is it just me? Can't login or nothing. Then again, why should I?

Yeah, twitter.com on desktop now redirects to x.com. I noticed this a little earlier.

I heard something about it not working on Firefox if you have tracking protection set to Strict. Mozilla is apparently working on a fix.

This means they are never going to do it btw

Again, how hard is this to fix when they can just use the same code? It's not like the protocols for X are any different from Twitter.

Why would they add more functionality to the boards when their end goal is to shut them down entirely?

Because Fandom at least has enough good sense to flip the bird at the Muskrat.

Why waste money on something they want to shut down?
