My friend told me how much money he makes we work at the same job I do way more work than him and give it my all and he gives very little effort., but he since he's been there a couple years more than me he makes 3 dollars dollar a hour more than me. I feel like not killing myself anymore because what's the point?

I mean, typically the longer you work in a location the more money you make.

Who does more work than the other is something you should take up with a supervisor or HR, or something.

I think that's stupid basing pay off of senority rather than performance. It should be who makes the company the most money not how long someone's been there

Thats every job Ive ever been at if Im being honest. More tenured people typically get paid more and learn/are able to delegate tasks. Thats how businesses retain good workers it seems. Ill never forget the first management position I got they said I was doing too much. Also you dont know if hes doing other stuff behind the scenes.

Your time will come.

Not jealous I work way harder than him amd half the time he's loafing around. Why should I continue to work very hard when someone who doesnt put half the effort I put in making 3 dollars more a hour than me.

Do you guys work the same exact position? How exactly do you know you generate more revenue than him?

We pull orders he skips the really big orders and only pulls small orders just last month i pulled over 2 million dollars worth of orders he barely cracked 40 grand I have my ways of finding out. Tell me that's not bs plus I'm always getting handed the big very expensive orders from my supervisor he never gets handed anything!

You can only worry about yourself and what you're doing. Buddy has been around long enough to know what he can get away with without risking being fired. And perhaps it has come with experience that the work he puts in looks more effortless on the surface because he has learned what is and isn't necessary to finish any given task.

At the same time, take pride in the things that you do. Money shouldn't the be-all and end-all of what you do. Imagine if the two of you are up for promotion (and it's based on merit and not seniority), your supervisor is going to go with the guy who works more diligently.

Your reputation is also at stake. If I need someone to cover a shift for me, I will 100% look for the guy that I know is a good worker. Or if I'm finished my task, I will help the hard worker rather than the lazy guy every day of the week.
