it's a weird thing cuz it's based on a theoretical math concept, not a linguistic construct

Just because you've heard it in theoretical math doesn't mean it's not weird.

I know that doesn't accurately respond to what you said; I just wanted to demonstrate that A and B are placeholders for phrases instead of propositions or whatever.

So are you saying it's still weird if you use actual phrases? "Just because you have a million dollars doesn't mean you'll always be happy," is weird to you?

Its basic logic. If you think its foolish or incorrect I assure you its not.

Id prove it to you but you would find that foolish and incorrect as well.

Yeah.

I'm sure there's some syntactic thing going on but it just intuitively feels weird for a "just because" to lead into a "doesn't mean." I forget all the names for these things but maybe it's like a dependent clause ("just because you have a million dollars") is being treated as a noun, or something. I dunno, I just know if you slow down and think about it, it's kinda weird.

It really isnt.

Weird is one of the ten million oddities in the English language. Using A and B in a logical comparison to simplify conversation; thats rational.
