We've started hanging our at the card sho for a place to play and go through cards and enter tournaments.

I usually bring a big box with my deck and like a thousand or more cards. I ask him to watch or hold my cards while I go to the bathroom and stuff.

I quickly noticed that things seemed off. Couldn't find some stuff and it feels like a fe things aren't in there. (I was kinda a collector before a real player, so I don't have intimate knowledge of all cards

Today I set a couple things at the top in a particular condition when I left so I could tell if anyone messed with it. He did. I asked him why and after acting confused for a bit he said he was just messing with a couple things in the box. Acted offended that I thought he might steal so I just said I'm particular about my shit and it being messed with bugs me(which is true)

Now I'm going through everything that seems off to see as best I can if anything was taken. =/

Anyway sorry for the long Rant, but how can I prove it or definitively tell if he is or has tomorrow? Any kinda ink I can put on some stuff to rub off on him, is hard to wash if he is a thief that's easy to get without ordering it online?

I just want to be sure that I'm not being stolen from. I'm disabled, basically poor, and constantly depressed and miserable. Besides God, the woman I love, my nephew, sister, and mother, along with maybe this one friend, I don't really have much people who really make my life feel worth it much. (Mods, not going go kill or hurt myself or whatever.

But with that, Magic is also one of the true things that really gives me joy currently in what is an extremely rough, hard, and miserable especially at the

I think my friend might be stealing my magic cards. What can I do to make sure he is or isn't when I see him tomorrow? I'd like to put some sort of transferable ink on there or something like that that can't be washed to be sure

Don't think I've seen this cooypasta before.

If he just flat out denies and you can't prove he's stealing, I can only suggest to make sure to keep your remaining cards in a locked box from now on if you still want to stay with him.

I only have pokemon and Final Fantasy cards that are probably worth 10 cents each right now

Talk to the shop. Im sure they have security footage if you really think you are being stolen from.

They've known him longer and are cooler with him but I think they should still be cool enough to check or let me check.

If you can prove it, you could confront him and be honest about it. Plus, if it's obviously true, I'd just cut my losses and leave him because he's obviously not a good friend.

Get a lock for your box. Then to catch him the best thing would be to ask if they have cameras and will check the footage for you. I doubt theyd be cool with any customer stealing. Since you told him already not to touch your things I would repeat what you did before and if he messed with it again then its clear he took something. Its possible he was genuine though and nothing is missing. It would help to catalog what you have as well.
