It was the quickest way to get clips and screenshots off the Switch onto another device. So it kinda sucks tbh.

Finally you'll be able to make posts in Splat 3 without linking a social media account. It was so dumb that they ever required that. But it sounds like they're just disabling posting entirely in Splat 2? That sucks for anyone still memeing there.

I wish just transferring to a phone was fast and easy, why modern consoles make it a pain is beyond me. The PS5 requires an app and even then it's only "recent" captures. The Switch's method is weird and doesn't always work properly

Yeah, that is silly. I get that they don't wanna turn Splatnet into some kind of toxic clout hunt, but having some way of knowing that someone thought your post was funny would be nice.

I hate that you can't send videos to friends on ps. Occasionally my friend will send me a clip of something and I'll just get a notification to view it in the PlayStation app that I don't have and don't care enough to download. I'm SURE they coulda just let us view them on the console.

The Switch Send to Smartphone function isn't so bad, but my phone hates connecting to the Switch's temporary network since it doesn't have internet access. My last phone was fine, but this one is a pain in the ass about it.

you can do exactly that. I send/receive gameplay clips with friends occasionally, like funny moments ^_^

we're on PS5 btw. if you message a clip to someone on PS4, then you get the "use the PS app to view video". I assume you were on PS4.

I am indeed on PS4. Good to know they implemented that basic ass feature into PS5.

Idk anything about Xbox, but Switch doesn't let you send screenshots, videos, or even messages to friends. And yet it's still less frustrating than ps4's system, cuz at least it doesn't act like you can share content directly and then make you jump through hoops to view it.
