One of the many mysteries of the internet is the "every chain restaurant is a disaster except Red Lobster" thing. It's definitely mid-tier among chains. If you were gonna hate indiscriminately with one exception, couldn't you at least pick something else?

Not sure endless shrimp is even a valid reason. Shrimp is insanely cheap. Go to your supermarket, you can get it for like $6 a pound. A pound of shrimp is a fuck ton of shrimp.

Yet, they lost $11 million. Before that, they lost just little over $3 million.

Far better small biz joints around for far cheaper, and those biscuits are at the supermarket. No loss.

To raise enough cash to make the deal happen, Golden Gate sold off Red Lobster's real estate to another entity in this case, a company called American Realty Capital Properties and then immediately leased the restaurants back.

Isn't that how Toys R Us died? Forced to rent their own property because venture capital bought and sold it to itself?

I've been there twice and didn't like it either time. Food was so bland. I doubt any of it is quality ingredients.

Chapter 11 is a restructuring plan to repay creditors while staying in business, so no, they're not planning to close at the moment.
