About 10 years ago I was doing a scavenger hunt type game for a family member. I did a mix of real world puzzles and online puzzles. At one point I hid a link on a completely dead board on gamefaqs which linked to another clue.

It was a board for a random PC game that even then was ten years old and totally random. This board not only had no active or archived posts, it had basically nothing. No reviews, no faqs, no anything. If I had to guess, I doubt it was visited more than double digits in its entire lifetime if it was even more than my couple of times there to post the link.

Somehow a week later, my post got modded for being off-topic. I still wonder to this day how the heck that happened. Did someone actually pick that one week to go to this ultra obscure board, see my post and mark it? Or is there perhaps some sort of site feature for the mods that picks up on activity like this?

Someone would have had to mark it.

Somebody took the time to mark it. Reason being is cause I have claimed boards up to this day that haven't been found.

Thats crazy! I actually dont know whats crazier, that someone found it at all or that they felt the need to mark it when they did.

Do you have the settings on where people that follow you could see your posts?

Probably, if that is the default setting here. Im not even sure if following was a thing on this site that long ago though. It mightve been closer to 15 years ago when I did this now that I think about it more.
