Not counting yourself btw

And how did it make you feel and did you do anything to console him?

oh, if it's not myself, i couldn't even tell you...and even if it were, tbh, probably couldn't say for sure, but at least a year or so.

In 2018 i watched over a guy (former coworker) that was considering suicide at his apartment. He had recently been kicked out of the airforce for failure to adjust.

Didn't want to be there tbh. He actually contacted a friend of mine about his thoughts. That friend contacted me because he didn't feel comfortable going alone. So I went with him.

My friend and the suicidal guy's wife went off to get something around midnight and they wouldn't be back till morning. I forgot what they were doing tbh. Edit: honestly I'm thinking they went to buy drugs lol but maybe I'm wrong.

So that left me at the apartment watching over my former coworker. I did not even interact with him tbh. I sat on the couch watching a movie while he sobbed in the bedroom. I felt pretty sad for him though but idk how to make people feel better really. Plus I didnt want to make things worse. I just made sure he wasn't going to off himself.

I hope he is well now

Edit: he was bullied quite often by like the staff sergeants (e5 in airforce) at work which i think is what affected him a whole lot. He cut his wrists at work one day which is what he got in trouble for. I was nice to him but didn't stick up for him so im no better than the ones that fucked him up mentally. He had only been at the base for like 3 months right out of tech school.

Im not around people much in situations where I would potentially see that.

So 5 years when my grandma died. At the funeral. Thats also the only time my entirely life Ive seen my dad cry. First time in over 40 years. My dad, my uncle, and of course my grandpa. First time I e seen it for any of them.

My brother in law cried this past Easter

His dad died not long ago and the holiday just kind of overwhelmed him. My wife gave him a big hug. I was roughhousing with kids and keeping them distracted at the time. I'm better suited for that role. My wife is much better at being genuinely comforting.

Idk how I felt honestly. I was trying to ignore it so that little ones didn't pick up on it and go ask him what's wrong and embarrass him.
