Music is the video games of girls. Unfortunately, I figured this out late in life and have never found becoming a scholar of musical genres interesting, so it's difficult now.

But almost every girl is passionate about a type of music, and you can impress them by knowing about their favorite band, knowing musical theory, or knowing how to play an instrument. Think about how you are fascinated with so many aspects of video games.

Girls also love anything nature, but usually have a sub category. IE, a lot of women who are into swimming aren't necessarily impressed with rock climbing.

I don't think anybody said that stuff was bad. There's a spectrum of "basic" interests and some are less cringeworthy than others.

To me, being basic isn't just having mundane interests, it's also:
- Thinking your hobbies are more unique/interesting than they actually are
- Being afraid to do anything slightly out of the norm because you just want to fit in with everyone

or they're just 'basic' because they're basic ass shit anyone would want if they had the means.

Video games are sports are pretty basic-friendly as ideas. I dont think most women find being into sports weird, and (depending on your generation) most women think playing video games as hobby is pretty normal. Your intensity with those hobbies may not be basic-friendly, but they arent weird.

Ithink this topic might be a bit misguided. Are you asking because youre just entering the dating world and trying to find options? Its (probably unintentionally) coming across as stereotyping: the topic.

The better option isnt to find out what is girl friendly, and instead find someone you can relate to on an everyday basis and share interests with. That makes for a stable foundation to build upon.

The other thing isif you have to ask the internet, its not going to help. You should be asking her (if someone specific is in mind), and faking common interests as a starting point to your relationship will get you friend zoned incredibly fast.

If the goal is to get dates, then just try hobbies that help you meet people in general. Hiking, fitness classes, dance classes, music festivals, etc. Stuff where you can have fun while also mingling with both men and women.
