>film is removed from a streaming service

>doesn't want to go through the multistep process of locating the DVD, taking it out of the package, putting it into the player, etc.

I remember what it was like to have to rewind a damn movie when it was finished. You had to wait sometimes upwards of an entire minute to get a tape back to the start. And here I am too lazy to pop in a DVD because it isn't as convenient as clicking a mouse.

Typing up this topic though, I'm not too lazy for that.

I can't bring myself to stream at home simply because I'm a home theatre junkie and the compression on streaming even in the best circumstances just doesn't measure up to blu-ray for me. I especially in many cases find the audio lacking but most people don't care as most people actually use stuff like tv speakers, a sound bar, or through some type of monitor setup with crap audio.

It's the same reason I virtually never hear gamers complain about audio in video games but if the resolution isn't 4K, of the frame rate isn't at least 60 at all times, or if there is improper shading/aliasing or any graphical anomaly at all the run right to the forums to complain about how bad it looks but never a peep about audio.

Sorry I'm ranting. I'll watch stuff over the PC while I'm goofing off at work, random clips, youtube vidoes of whatever. But when it comes to actual movie or show watching. I can't stream. I still gotta go with physical media and I'll expend the energy to go get the disc.

Talk about the FPS nerds who complain if they can't hear foot steps right lol. They care about audio in certain aspects.

There have been times that I've played a lesser console game because I was too lazy to swap the cartridge out for a better one.

I'll grant you there is that small subset that care to a degree in that aspect.

I always wonder about this too. People seem very sensitive to graphics issues, but are fine listening to the soundtracks (which they love) on the shittiest of speakers.

Honestly that's why I pirated shit for the longest because it was simply faster to DL it and start it than it was for me to get up, find the DVD, take it out, put it in the tray, maybe put another disc away, scroll through the menu, and finally start it.
