Essentially, a part of Motive led by Dead Space remake executive director Philippe Ducharme was transferred to help work on the Battlefield franchise, while the rest are still working on their Iron Man game.

The chance of seeing a Dead Space 2 remake or a new Dead Space has just plummeted severely.

EA. Don't care. They can burn to the ground as far as I'm concerned.

What a shame they won't be making a DS2 remake then. Battlefield sucks.

The concept of a dead space remake was so fucking dumb

they put more effort into it than it needed but its such a waste of development work to retread old ground. Make a damn new game

Tbh Dead Space is the only thing of EA's that I care for since those games (aside from 3) are the pinnacle of sci-fi horror IMO, so seeing this sucks.

Eh, horror games as a niche have been doing just fine with the remake trend. A lot of the classics are on older tech and the facelifts aren't awful.

They never fixed the stuttering and insanely high cpu usage for the Deadspace remake

Dead Space 1 & 2 are the only good games to have come from EA in a decade more or less, everything else is dog shit they didn't produce or contribute to. Just like how Apex Legends is because of Respawn entertainment despite it's issues & problems, EA themselves are just the regurgitated sports game publisher

It makes sense for RE games where theyre changing the perspective of the games and therefore modernizing how they play, but Dead Space still plays like a modern gamethings just havent change that much in the time since it released

its the definitive version of the game now but it was wholly unnecessary

Dead Space 1 still plays and handles very well, so I also agree that this remake seemed wildly unnecessary.

RE4 felt like a much bigger departure despite still feeling similar to the OG for the way the game handles alone.

Ah, thanks for pointing that out, didn't notice the update. I did find it kinda suspicious the rumor came out shortly after the initial news story.

I think it was the case of, everyone was raving about the DS1 remake and everyone just assumed that the second one would be made. IIRC even the director after release said they were interested in the second one.
