There's definitely an argument to be made for going into Afghanistan after 9/11 but not Iraq.

We were definitely going into Afghanistan after 9/11, but it should've been a punitive mission to eliminate Bin Laden and other high ranking Al-Qaeda officials, not the whole nation building thing. But I suppose Bush couldn't admit defeat after Bin Laden escaped our clutches after the bungle job that was Tora Bora so needed an alternative goal to work towards.

Korea was literally the United Nations vs. North Korea (later with Chinese and covert Soviet help). The US took a leading role but it didn't need to justify it when the world was largely on the side of the South. That wasn't the case for Vietnam. That was the case for the Gulf War (even the Soviets supported Kuwait against Iraq).

The UN said no.
And it was a cluster fuck. We should have listened.

It was a complete mistake in every way, shape, and form, and I will never forgive any of the Dems who were completely lost in the sauce and voted to go to Iraq.

They were deliberately lied to by the executive branch. They voted on the (dis)information they had at the time. Grow up

If it takes 50 years to figure this shit out its definitely a negative since the people who sold the war promised a 7 month at most war.

Agreed. The jingoism was also at a fever pitch at the time as well, so you weren't exactly going to be getting many kudos by taking a principled stance against the war. It is actually scary how much under Bush's spell the country was at the time. Of course since we now know how the story ends, it seems silly, but people were lapping up everything Bush was selling at the time. I can definitely see how people can get wrapped up in fascism regimes, it had a very similar feel at the time, even if you break the brainwashing, you are going to find nothing but hatred and difference directed at you if you choose to oppose the entrenched party and most people just don't have the stomach to endure that.

Then MacArthur decided to invade the North and threatened to nuke China.

I proudly opposed the war since 2003. I still remember WoT where people actually claimed that it'd be only a matter of time before the WMDs would be found.

They should have gotvproof of wmds before invading but im glad saddam is no longer in charge

Most Poles were against the war though. The government joined the war anyway because they want to get into the USA's good graces, having joined NATO only a few years before.
