Like basically everyone on the internet is vicariously aware of the end of disc 1 of OG FF7 and so on. But not nearly as many people are aware of the OTHER major spoiler in the game that you get in the middle of disc 2.

And I find that kind of funny because there's plenty of people who would probably be surprised once they learn about that.

It's like treasure island everyone knows the twist that Long John SIlver is a pirate. More people would be surprised to learn he wa a ships cook.

You are referring to Cloud never being part of SOLDIER? Funny in the end he became stronger than any SOLDIER. Bet Shinra regrets not taking him into the program.

There's also the lesser one that the Sephiroth you're chasing through disc 1 and half of disc 2 isn't the real Sephiroth.

Yeah.

IIRC it wasn't because of physical prowess. Cloud was always strong for his age. It was because he failed the mental exams/screening process.

A lot of players just know that Cloud and Zack used to be friends in SOLDIER together.

Im still mildly salty that they build up the identity crisis in FF7 and then kind of handwave over it at the end of Crisis Core.

Like I know why Cloud gets the SOLDIER abilities ( S-Cell infusion and sitting in Mako fluid for 4 years )

But they don't properly explain why Cloud blurs all of his memories with Zack. <_< and it's implied that the events of 7 follow pretty fucking closely to the end of CC but Cloud goes from suffering debilitating Mako poisoning to just beating up Shinra tech (easily}?

Idk, I just expected it to be addressed more directly instead of being expected to assume it's all a side effect of the mako poisoning
