Not gonna watch that shit cuz I think debate bros are the scum of the earth but Finkelstein is cool.

There were so many things wrong with this debate.

1. It should have never been 5 hours. 2-3 hours tops. At least in the end, there's shorter clips form another account. https://www.youtube.com/@LexClips
2. Destiny should have never been part of the debate. He's not a subject matter expert and he's a disrespectful moron. You have 3 people with PHDs with some fucking dude with an iPad (why is this allowed in a debate) misquoting people and articles and trying to pull "gotchas" at Finkelstein and accusing him of lying. He constantly misunderstands Finkelstein and is just an asshole all around. People give Finkelstein shit for personally insulting him several times from this, but they fail to see that the dude was fed up with his bullshit.
3. There was almost zero moderation. This was the biggest offender outside of bringing Destiny over non sme. Lex Fridman is awful. He may have asked the questions, but he didn't properly mdoerate. Just sat back and relaxed and just waited till it was over until he could edit the video for revenue. People were constantly talking over each other, there should have been time limits for each person IMO, and encouraged people who were hardly talking to talk about certain subjects.

Someone I follow on twitter retwitted a clip of it and it was basically the phd guys just constantly telling him "Shut the fuck up, you moron!". It was pretty funny as a little like, 5 minute clip but I imagine having to listen to that mouth breather desperately trying to sound intelligent for 5 hours would probably be ulser inducing.

Actual subject matter experts vs YouTube quality debater is the equivalent of prime Mike Tyson vs the toughest kid in your elementary school.

Norm is a really really bad representative for Palestine. He literally thinks the US provoked Russia and that Russia had a right to invade Ukraine.

Edit: oh yea, pretty sure he also defended the Charlie hebdo terror attack. Its crazy the left is turning to this guy as their authority figure for this conflict, the dude is a psycho.

Like I don't agree with Benny Morris at all but I acknowledge that there are few people alive on this planet that know more about the conflict than him.

Same can be said for Norm. To not acknowledge his extensive coverage and knowledge on Palestine is just ignoring reality.

Not saying he doesn't have extensive knowledge on the topic, he certainly does, just saying the dude is kind of a loon and there are way more people with knowledge on the topic that should be elevated over him. Rabbani performed way better in the debate than Norm.
