Had this coworker spill a lot of information about themselves earlier today. This dude started working here earlier this month. >_> I mean I still tried to comfort them and listen to them and let them vent about whatever is in their mind but I can't lie and say that it wasn't weird for me.

The same thing happened when I started talking to a different coworker about 4ish years ago. She was the same way, and while it worked out in the end (still close friends to this day) it's just weird to me to trust someone that much that you're willing to reveal personal information like that so soon. Throughout the years I tried to pick her brain about this and told her what made you want to talk to me and all she could say is "idk I just felt like it."

I don't know how people have that big of a cojones to trust a stranger like that lol

May not have anyone else in their life who they can privately share themselves with. Maybe you're a trustworthy looking person as well?

people can use that stuff against you though. Seen it many times. Who wouldn't be angered by that though? they turn around and use it against you.....

People need work best friends. They go into work, point at someone and now they're BFFs.

Sometimes it's easier to tell someone you don't know that well.

I'm talking generally, not about myself specifically. I don't really have any secrets to entrust.

But what you'll find is that people will tend to disapprove more of the person who tried to weaponize a confidence.

yeah people should be angered at that. Have seen it happen many times though
