Because such studies dont exist. And any actual studies on cats impact on the environment are often reported in misleading ways

but this is also just one independent study, not definitive proof. and the authors themselves have already doubted that cats are the leading cause of bird/small mammal deaths multiple times just in the part I've read.

Theres nothing to debunk because its not an actual study. Its an aggregate of numerous reports, some going back a century, and some that have been debunked. They use wide ranges of estimates of how many outdoor cats there are (which range from 20 million to 120 million) and how many small mammals and birds they think they kill in a year. Then they CHOSE a number range they THINK is conservative and make calculations on that.

There is not a single study that accurately tracks how many birds are killed by cats in a year. There isnt even an accurate census on outdoor cat populations

It's also not wise to feed stray cats because:

* Health risks: Feeding stray animals can increase the transmission of disease and injuries from fighting.
* Ecosystem damage: Feeding feral cats can be detrimental to the health of the ecosystem and wildlife.
* Property damage: An excessive number of cats in one place can damage personal property.
* Increased stray problem: Providing food to undesexed cats increases the stray problem.
* Lures other wildlife: Feeding stray cats can attract other local wildlife species like raccoons, skunks, foxes, and opossums.

If you got the money you can catch em and have em fixed.

We have like 3 ferals ocassionally a 4th who come around my house cause we put food out. Have only ever had opossum show up as for as other wildlife and they are harmless.

Haven't seen a rodent or snake in ages. Also they where hanging around before we started feeding them. But now they are damn near domesticated I've picked up and held 2 of them several times. And they follow me when I take the dog on a walk.

I have only seen two snakes since moving to Arizona inside. My cat caught them both times.
