Part of the issue is that people are not being properly educated. I'm not sure if grade school kids still have health class, but even back in the day, at best they'd tell you how fruits and veggies are good for you, but they never spoke of just how bad soda and sweets are, and all the oils and plethora of other unhealthy ingredients. People really should take the time and google each of these ingredients. And you'll likely wonder how the FDA is able to label these things as being safe for consumption.I doubt many people are ignorant of the things you're talking about. Many just don't care or can't make themselves eat things that they don't enjoy. --- Can you wait another day? Wait another week? Wait another month? Wait another year? https://imgur.com/o21DN7r ... I'm not a fan of comments about how eating healthy is expensive. It's not financially expensive, it can be TIME expensive for sure. But that's a different thing and requires different fixes
I'm lucky I'm someone who can eat very basic meals (beans, rice) multiple times in a row and not get bored of it. It saves me a lot of time in cooking since I can just do left overs. And it saves money because I can easily make food at home that I enjoy. But not everyone is like that. --- http://avatar.xboxlive.com/avatar/emblem%20boy/avatar-body.png haters gonna hate ... The salad can be much cheaper if you buy it non pre-packaged.This. People look at organic pre packaged salads and claim veggies are expensive. An entire head of lettuce is only $1.75. A 2 lb bag of carrots is $1.55. Container of mushrooms is $2. To add to your time expense comment. Yeah you'll spend more time eating healthy than you would eating frozen tv dinners but like you said there are fixes for that. I'll take 1-2 hours every Sunday to cook a big batch of something healthy. Veggie stir fry, chicken noodle soup with a ton of veggies in it, prep or bake some chicken breast, etc. Yeah that's a couple hours of effort but the rest of my lunch that week is as simple as taking those leftovers out of the fridge and popping them in the microwave so the time sink evens out. --- http://i.imgur.com/R15aJJ3.png http://i.imgur.com/NJqp6LS.png ... Yeah, I don't know why prices are being discussed when the real matter at heart (perhaps a cholesterol clogged one) usually boils down to one of two things: not liking healthy food or simply not having the time for it. The majority of people seem to prefer artificially sugary and oily foods to things like fruits or baked/steamed/whatever vegetables.
Couple that with a sedentary lifestyle and you have a recipe for obesity and other health issues. --- Can you wait another day? Wait another week? Wait another month? Wait another year? https://imgur.com/o21DN7r ... Copied to Clipboard!
