We have to outlast the final shitheel boomers. Yes there will still be Nazis after they are gone but they are by far the group that provides the most votes to the GOP.

If Biden wins and then another Dem wins in 2028, then that should flip the SCOTUS back to at worst neutral.

We're in this mess because Democrats have ignored state legislative and downballot races.

We just have to keep electing Democrats. Tough to win nationally when a chunk of the electorate is a cult, (and a cult that likes voter suppression) but we can stop this whole thing at the polls. Not easy, but possible.

The best hope is for Trump to lose and for the MAGA cancer to kill the republican party.

This guy gets it. Regardless of whether or not the polls are skewed against younger voters, we should treat them as a reason to ramp up turnout rather than acted like we're fucked before any we have any official numbers, which we won't get until after election day.

Also, important to emphasize, as others have said, that Project 2025 wouldn't be able to get through if Democrats controlled the House or Senate or Supreme Court, so acting like it's all about the presidency is a huge overreaction and essentially buying into futility before the long term game has played out.

Look on the bright side, if we all die (and I would be on Trump's enemies list), somebody here will surely get the chance to say to me "I told you so." Being right is almost as important as being alive.

I don't want them to take over either.

I'm saying that people act like it's a guarantee that it will happen and that anyone who says otherwise supports it. If it's inevitable, arguing about it won't make a difference. But I don't think it's inevitable, nor do I think this will be the last election ever.

Yeah. Under our two party system, republicans getting voted back in is an inevitability and when they do get back in, they'll push things as close to fascism as they can. If you want to prevent this, you'd have to upend the entire system. Working within this system will delay things at best.

There is hope, it's voting for the Democrat.

It's truly not that hard.

Look on the bright side. If the Dems can hold all 3 of the presidency, flip the house, and maintain control of the Senate either this year or 2026. Also importantly get rid of the Senate filibuster this time.They'll have the power to put up a ton of roadblocks for the next fascist takeover attempt to have to go through, that we might be able survive another Republican presidency without fearing we could lose our democracy.
